Welcome to Genesee Water & Sanitation District
Genesee Water and Sanitation District is a quasi-municipal corporation and a political subdivision of the State of Colorado formed on July 5, 1973 pursuant to the Special District Act. The District was organized for the purpose of providing clean, safe and reliable water and sanitation services to its residents.
- Located in Jefferson County, Colorado, about 15 miles west of downtown Denver and 8 miles southwest of Golden.
- The District’s service area stretches from slightly north of Interstate Highway 70 to Bear Creek on the south, and contains approximately 2,870 acres. Within the District there are 1,270 single and multi-family users and approximately 30 commercial users, including retail, restaurants, churches, schools and recreational facilities.
- The District's water and sewer systems serve approximately 1,310 users, which equates to roughly 1,582 equivalent residential units.
- The District estimates its current population is 3,699.
